Our Mama Hope Africa Project

Mama Hope Africa

Support a Mother.  Nourish a Child.  Restore Hope.

A Maternal & Child Support Initiative of Formula & Solutions for Global Challenges (FSGChallenge)

Mama Hope Africa is a maternal and child support initiative of Formula & Solutions for Global Challenges, Inc. (FSGChallenge). FSGChallenge partners with trusted community-based organizations across low- and middle-income countries in Africa to identify and assist people facing extreme vulnerability, hardship, and urgent humanitarian needs.

Program Overview

Mama Hope Africa is a maternal and child support initiative of Formula & Solutions for Global Challenges, Inc. (FSGChallenge). FSGChallenge partners with trusted community-based organizations across low- and middle-income countries in Africa to identify and assist people facing extreme vulnerability, hardship, and urgent humanitarian needs.

The Need

The project supports pregnant and lactating women who have lost the financial, emotional, or practical support of a husband or partner through death, divorce, separation, abandonment, displacement, or other difficult circumstances. Many of these mothers face pregnancy and early motherhood without adequate food, healthcare, income, safe housing, or essential supplies for their babies.

These circumstances place both mother and child at increased risk of malnutrition, preventable illness, emotional distress, and poverty.

Our Approach

Mama Hope Africa is built on a simple conviction: no woman should face pregnancy or early motherhood alone. Working through local community partners, healthcare providers, volunteers, and women's organizations, the project delivers comprehensive assistance tailored to each mother's most urgent needs.

Areas of Support

  • Maternal and child healthcare services and referrals
  • Nutritious food and maternal nutrition assistance
  • Baby clothing, diapers, hygiene products, and other essential supplies
  • Antenatal and postnatal education and support
  • Breastfeeding and infant-feeding guidance
  • Mental health counseling and psychosocial support
  • Emergency assistance for mothers in desperate situations
  • Livelihood training, small-business support, and income-generating opportunities
  • Community support groups to reduce isolation and strengthen resilience

Our 12-Month Goal

Mama Hope Africa seeks to raise $3,600,000 to support 5,000 highly vulnerable pregnant and lactating women in West Africa for 12 months.

Support Level and Amount

Daily support for one mother = $2

Monthly support for one mother = $60

Annual support for one mother = $720:

Annual support for 5,000 mothers = $3,600,000

Accountability & Oversight

FSGChallenge promotes accountability through beneficiary verification, financial oversight, regular monitoring, outcome tracking, and donor reporting.

Our Impact

By supporting Mama Hope Africa, donors and partners help protect two lives at once: a mother and her child. This investment contributes to safer pregnancies, healthier newborns, improved maternal nutrition, stronger families, and more economically independent women.

Join Us

We invite foundations, corporations, healthcare institutions, community organizations, faith-based groups, and individual donors to join us in reaching 5,000 mothers during the project's first year.

No mother should face pregnancy or early motherhood alone.

Support a mother.  Nourish a child.  Restore hope.
